ASP (Agape Sustainability Program)

Sustainability is a critical component of any program or project’s work to achieve wide impact and long-term goals and outcomes. Sustainability implies that the project continues to attract interest, influence developments and keep having positive impact on a particular area of interest, even after the completion of all project activities. Sustainability also refers to the continuation of a project’s goals, principles, activities and efforts to achieve desired outcomes even in the absence of funding.

The AGAPE sustainability Program (ASP) outlines the main actions to be undertaken by AGAPE-AKOS to ensure the sustainability of the operations of the organization beyond donor funding. This provides the continued ability of AGAPE to provide for health insurance for the girls under protection, nutritious food supply, quality education, volunteer teachers’ allowances, legal service officers’ allowances, health and counselling officers’ allowances, utilities and other operational expenses. The project analyses the sustainability strategies, and defines the outputs to be sustained as well as the main channels to be used for achieving sustainability goals. The overarching aim is to ensure that project results and the lessons learned will be durable and applicable as a model to empower other local NGOs, community development colleges (academia), target groups and local communities in the Tanzanian territory and beyond.
